Looking for McKillop Genealogy

Hello! My great-grandmother, Margaret Shannon, was raised in Cushendall before emigrating to America around 1881. Her mother was Ann McKillop (born around 1837; died 1892); she married Hugh Shannon, who was farming in Cloughs, and they are buried, together with several other daughters, in the Bay Cemetery at Glenariff. I'm trying to learn who were Ann's parents, siblings and cousins….and to see if anyone has any memories or photographs of the family (I know there was a prayer card for her daughter - Mary Ann (Shannon) McCambridge - from 1938, but it was lost to us). Or even just context on what life was like in Cushendall and Cloughs in the 1860s and 1870s. Any input is much appreciated!

There was a Shannon family living in the Parkmore area of Glenariffe in the 1950/60’s (possibly before & after that era) do you know if it was the same family connection?

The Father at that time was Bob (Robert) Shannon.

A Son, Billy, of Bob, as far as I am aware is alive and well and living in the Southampton / Portsmouth area in England. I’ve no other modern day information of the other members of the family.

Wow, Rory…that's news to me. I've only been told that Shannon is a very rare name in the area, and from what little I've seen, that's correct. So it's interesting that you know of a family…and I would guess there's a connection, but don't know for certain. Thanks for the tip!
